If you own an O2D2 unit then you are aware that there is battery compartment on the back and you need to be able to access and open it occasionally to change the batteries. This battery compartment takes up much of the space on the back of the unit so it doesn’t leave much room on the back for velcro for mounting. This mounting bracket solves these issues.
- The O2D2 easily unit slides in and out from the top to make it easy to change the batteries or to remove when not in use.
- Able to attach to a Ram Ball mount (uses the standard AMPS screw pattern)
- Alternatively allows for direct mounting to your location of choice with either flat head #10 counter sink machine screws or a large amount of velcro (neither are included).
- Ports provided in the bottom to allow for audio and power connections.
- Made of ASA Plastic which is high strength; heat, UV, and chemical resistant.
Optional OEM Regulator mounting arm coming soon (Prototype shown in photo)
**Doesn’t include the O2D2 unit
**Placing a thin strip of the soft side of the velcro to the top edge of the O2D2 unit before insertion to the bracket snugs the fit if desired (See the attached photo).
These parts are designed, tested, 3D printed and assembled in the USA (Indiana) by a fellow pilot from Temperature and UV resistant ASA plastic (higher tech version of ABS) for maximum durability in aircraft that sometimes sit on a ramp in the sun. ASA plastic can be sanded and painted if an improved finish or color matched part is desired. Light coats are recommended as common paint solvents can temporarily soften the surface.
